H1000 Power Manipulators for the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant
Projects
Location: Hanford Waste Treatment Plant
Customer: Bechtel National, Inc.
NuVision Engineering is currently contracted by Bechtel National, Inc. to design, fabricate, test and deliver four H1000 Radiation Tolerant Power Manipulators for use at the waste treatment plant being constructed at the Hanford site. These devices are used in the sorting and handling of high level waste components for eventual vitrification and packaging. The NuVision Engineering scope of work includes the delivery of the plant-specific design and manipulators, as well as operator training.
The manipulators are designed and built in the U.S. at NuVision Engineering’s facility in Pittsburgh, PA.
NuVision Engineering has been designing, building and delivering manipulators for more than 15 years. Currently, there are over 20 in operation around the world with more than 100,000 hours of operational experience, illustrating that the H1000 is a heavy duty, high-payload, very reliable manipulator for use in radioactive and harsh environments.
