“The acquisition will enable the two companies to work seamlessly in providing value adding engineering services to the US and wider global nuclear markets,” said NuVision President and CEO Van Walker in a statement.
A Pittsburgh-based engineering firm that works in the nuclear and power generation industry has been acquired by a British firm.
Carr’s Group plc announced the acquisition of ESI Holding Co. Inc., the owner of NuVision Engineering. Financial terms of the agreement weren’t announced. NuVision is based at River Park Commons on Sidney Street in the South Side with an engineering and design facility in Mooresville, N.C., and a business development office in Frederick, Md. Its business includes engineering for nuclear power plants and other
power generation facilities, as well as waste management for the nuclear industry. It was founded in 1971.
The new owners are a 222-year-old firm with revenue of about $410 million annually that started as a bakery and flour mill and remains
a global force in agriculture as well as engineering. Its CarrsMSM, Bendalls Engineering and Walishchmiller Engineering divisions also are in the nuclear industry.
“The acquisition will enable the two companies to work seamlessly in providing value adding engineering services to the U.S. and wider global nuclear markets,” said NuVision President and CEO Van Walker in a statement.
